Project Description
Part of the stewardship plan at the Turtle Haven Preserve is the removal of old run-down buildings. Volunteers with the Washington Fish and Wildlife conducted bat surveys in July to determine bat populations prior to removal. In November, a Boy Scout Troop #69 installed bat houses. Now that the buildings are down, there is deconstruction debris that needs to be gathered and removed before it get's lost in the soil. Volunteers will help improve safety and habitat by helping with a litter patrol (nails, glass, and plastics oh my!): aka, Mission Microtrash!
Difficulty level: Work includes bending, picking up small and medium size deconstruction trash.
There is no official restroom on site.
Hazards: Ticks and some poison oak.
