Winter Bald Eagle Viewing - Sign Ups

Monday, January 1, 2018

10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

*Please note the date listed is a placeholder. The dates for the outings have not yet been determined.*

This annual winter outing is a prime opportunity to watch bald eagles along the Klickitat River and Columbia River as they nest here to feed on salmon. Join a wildlife biologist to learn more about this special bird while viewing them through a spotting scope.

Once we hear the eagles have arrived in the Gorge, we'll send out an email announcing the dates for outings to be held in late January and early February. Sign up now to be the first to be notified when registration begins for this annual seasonal outing.

In years past the outings have been scheduled for late January and early February and have been held at Balfour-Klickitat Day Use Area along the Klickitat River in Lyle, WA or at The Dalles Dam, OR on the Columbia River. Typically we'll view bald eagles with a wildlife biologist and Friends staffmember for about 1.5 hours, then we'll continue on for a post-viewing activity nearby such as wine tasting, wildflower hike (weather-dependent) or lunch at a local restaurant.
