Project Description

Turtle Haven Preserve has been an active restoration site for approximately 5 years prioritizing habitat improvements for Northwestern Pond Turtles populations in the Gorge in partnership with Washington Fish and Wildlife Department and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. In addition to pond habitat restoration, over the past year, 11 run-down structures were removed including most recently, an old house. Now it's time to for a clean up before winter sets in!

We will spread out and scour the site for micro-trash left behind from deconstruction (there will be prizes for the most unique finds). Next, we'll spread native grass seed in the areas where the house was removed to begin to add native vegetation before the weeds come in! If time allows, we may tackle a few invasive weeds on site as a bonus!
