John Yeon Landscape: Design, Conservation, Activism
This new book published in conjunction with the Quest for Beauty exhibit at the Portland Art Museum explores John Yeon’s roles as planner, landscape architect, and conservation activist. John led a national committee dedicated to the conservation of the Gorge. He also purchased 78 acres of Gorge riverfront property across the Columbia River from Multnomah Falls, transforming it into a piece of landscape architecture called The Shire. This private, picturesque landscape showcased the beauty of the Gorge and served as the birthplace of our organization. Proceeds from sale go to Friends.
