First Saturday Stewardship at Sams Walker Day Use Area, WA
Join us for stewardship Saturdays at Sams Walker! As we prepare for future plantings, the focus this spring will be to continue targeting patches of invasive plants from oak understory habitats that are smothering native shrubs and wildflowers! As we hike to the project area we'll tour the oak and pollinator meadow restoration efforts from the past five years, talk about successes and challenges and look for the first wildflowers of the season!

Join Friends hike leader and master naturalist Sharon Ross, co-leader Sandy Haigh, director of the Center for Ecodynamic Restoration, and hike shepherd Rebecca Erickson to discover the rich history of the Sams Walker Day Use Area.
Invasive Plant Removal at Balfour-Klickitat Day Use Area, WA
Come spend the morning along this scenic trail overlooking the Klickitat River. We will continue to focus on spring habitat maintenance with a variety of projects including monitoring and removing various invasive weeds such as European houndstongue, yellow star thistle, non-native annual grasses and blackberry. We'll also take time to hike the short trail loop and talk about past and future stewardship in this area.
