Size: 70 acres
Location: Skamania County, WA
Acquired: 2010
Situated directly across the river from Crown Point, one of the Gorge’s most iconic landmarks, Vista View was acquired to prevent the development of two multi-million-dollar homesites, preserving the area’s natural pastoral beauty. By maintaining the hay pastures for local agricultural use, the Vista View properties also play a crucial role in preserving the rural character of the region. In the future, Friends’ stewardship staff hopes to emulate neighboring WA Department of Natural Resources’ restoration plans by planting Oregon white oak on the property in order to enhance its value to wildlife.
