39th Annual Picnic in Paradise

Sunday, June 23, 2019

12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Bring your family and friends to our Annual Summer Picnic on Thunder Island's Marine Park in Cascade Locks.

This year it'll be a true, old-fashioned community picnic - not a potluck. You bring the lunch you want for you and your friends and family. Drinks, desserts, and snacks are on us. Thanks to pFriem Family Brewers for the beer donation.

We'll also host a mini-tabling fair with information on our programming, along with some family-friendly activities provided by Super Nature Adventures and Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards.

Enjoy live music (by Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductee Paul Brainard and his Hawaiian-infused jazz/funk group Tiki Men) and the beautiful views while connecting with other Gorge supporters. All family, friends, and leashed pets are welcome.

Driving Directions

Need a ride? Sign up for a van ride provided by Friends; contact Membership Coordinator Sophia Aepfelbacher at sophia@gorgefriends.org or 971-634-0323.

Or take the bus: The Columbia Gorge Express is a convenient, affordable way to get to the Gorge. You can pair the picnic with a day out in the Gorge (go early or stay late; go for a hike or stop by local businesses). View the summer schedule (PDF).

Friends of the Columbia Gorge and the Port of Cascade Locks have partnered together to offer this event at this unique venue.
