Outing Description
Join hike leader Paul Freeman for a day full of adventure in the western Gorge beginning at the Wahkeena Falls trailhead. After the 2017 Eagle Creek fire, the area surrounding Wahkeena Falls area was burned in a mosaic pattern, leaving openings for wildflowers to bloom abundantly. In addition, long-range views and vistas have opened up for all to marvel at. You can also expect waterfalls; and a refreshing spring bubbling out of the ground, which is the perfect spot for a break as you continue on this difficult hike. *Strenuous hikes will challenge most hikers. The hike will generally be longer and steeper, but may be deemed "Strenuous" because of the elevation gain. Generally 7 to 10 miles.
