Project Description
This property, acquired by Friends of the Columbia Gorge in 2020, is adjacent to the Catherine Creek trail network and universal access trail managed by the US Forest Service. At our first stewardship event here volunteers will assist with a small tree planting and get started on other small projects to prepare for the next phase of restoration and development.
Accessibility: Project area is flat surface , asphalt and gravel. Work includes digging, transporting dirt a short distance in wheelbarrows, moving small rocks. Indoor bathroom on site.
What to Bring:
- Lunch, snacks, and plenty of water
- Face mask (cloth, paper, or medical-grade)
- Personal hand sanitizer
- Garden gloves(provided if needed)
- Shovel(provided if needed)
- Sun protection
- 10 essentials, including personal first aid kit
- A pack to carry your personal gear
- Photo/copy of vaccination card
What to Wear:
- Boots or closed-toe shoes
- Long pants that can get muddy
- Dress for weather: extra layers of clothing in case of wet or cold weather
Schedule:
- 9:00 a.m. - Welcome, introductions and safety circle
- 9:20 a.m. -Planting demo
- 9:30 a.m. - Project begins
- 11:00 a.m. - Lunch break
- 1:00 p.m. - Work party concludes

A confirmation email with directions will be sent out 3-5 days before the event.
