Due to coronavirus concerns this event has been canceled.
Environmental educators Claudia and Mark Sanzone will guide us to a beautiful waterfall to feel its cool mist, along the way using our animal senses to observe the natural world around us in this lush forest. We’ll spend time distinguishing native forest plant species, learning to identify (and eat!) the edible ones like ripe thimble berries, miners lettuce, and more. Gazing up to Beacon Rock, we’ll imagine the Ice Age Floods cover its peak and learn about the powerful forces that created the Gorge unique landscapes.
Wear sturdy hike boots/shoes, and bring your daypack with a lunch, snacks, water, and layers for protection against the elements. View the recommended 10+ Essentials List to help you pack.
