Saturday, June 13, 2020

9:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Strenuous: 6.9 miles | 1,950-ft elev. gain

Join hike Leader Ken Hansen for a unique hiking experience on a lesser-traveled trail that used to be part of the Cascade Crest Trail, the original PCT. This semi-strenuous hike is worth it for the wildflower paradise and unbelievable views we’ll experience. We’ll start by making our way through an open field of wildflowers before diving into the lush forest where we’ll ascend to lunch views of Big Lava Bed, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Hood.

This is a family-friendly hike suitable for older kids with hiking experience.

Only vehicles with at least mid-clearance should attempt the drive to the trailhead.

Wear sturdy hike boots/shoes, and bring your daypack with a lunch, snacks, water, and layers for protection against the elements. Hiking poles are recommended. View the recommended 10+ Essentials List to help you pack.

Before this outing, make sure you understand our Hike Program Information & Guidelines.
