Follow hike leader Paul Freeman on the steep ascent from Wahkeena Falls past Fairy Falls and up Vista Trail to the Devil’s Rest high point. We’ll descend on the Foxglove trail to Angel’s Rest, then pass Wahkeena Spring to return to our starting point. We’ll hike through areas recovering from the Eagle Creek fire and witness how the forest is recovering. Because of the fire, there are newly opened viewpoints, and also forest openings so we can expect to see lots of wildflowers in bloom. This is a strenuous, full-day hike.
Please wear sturdy hike boots/shoes, and bring your daypack with plenty of water, snacks and lunch food, and layers for protection against the elements. Hiking poles are highly recommended. View the recommended 10+ Essentials List to help you pack.
Before this outing, make sure you understand our Hike Program Information & Guidelines.
