Klickitat Trail Dog-Friendly Hike, WA

Wednesday, April 15, 2020

10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Easy/Moderate: 4-5 miles | 100-ft elev. gain on gravel trail

Enjoy a spring hike in the eastern Gorge with your best canine friend (or, just yourself) on this former railroad bed-turned-trail. We’ll start in the town of Lyle, Washington and follow the scenic Klickitat River for a couple miles before turning back. This time of year is prime wildflower viewing, so the trail should be lined with beautiful color. Please note that although the trail is generally level, it is rocky.

All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet. You don’t need to bring a dog along to attend. Bring sun protection, and 1-2 quarts of water for you and your dog. There is the possibility for rattlesnake encounters.

Please wear sturdy hike boots/shoes, and bring your daypack with a lunch, snacks, water, and layers for protection against the elements. View the recommended 10+ Essentials List to help you pack.

Before this outing, make sure you understand our Hike Program Information & Guidelines.
