Lyle Cherry Orchard Native Planting & Seeding, WA
Thursday, November 7, 2019
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Join Friends Land Trust Stewardship Coordinator Sara Woods at the Lyle Cherry Orchard trail in planting and seeding native species.
Volunteers will contribute to a larger restoration project to control an infestation of invasive yellow starthistle on Friends' 540 acre land trust preserve. The work party will occur on the higher portion of the trail in the open areas or benches. No experience is necessary and all tools will be provided. Get ready to have fun!
Difficulty level: We will be carrying plants, equipment, and tools 1/2 mile up a steep section of trail (1000' elevation gain) to the work site.
Hazards include: Poison oak, sharp tools, and walking on uneven terrain.
We appreciate our volunteers! As a thank you, volunteers are gifted with a free Friends of the Columbia Gorge tech-tee after completing 3 stewardship work parties.
