PCT Hike from Herman Creek, OR

Saturday, September 28, 2019

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Experience the single good viewpoint on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) between Herman Creek and Benson Plateau, a place marked in old hiking books as "Helispot", with leader Christoph Stauder. We'll hike through areas partially burned in 2017 and others untouched by the fire, and enjoy commanding views of the Columbia River, Mt. Adams, Table Mountain, Dog Mountain, the Herman Creek Valley, and the Woolly Horn Ridge.  This is one of the few places on the Oregon side of the Columbia Gorge where you can still hike to 3,000 feet.

This is an expert-level, full-day hike.

Note: The group size for this hike is restricted to 12 total since we'll be in the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness area.
