It's the centennial year of the Historic Columbia River Highway! This fall, we’re celebrating America’s first scenic highway with a photo contest. While inspired by the concurrent Historic Highway Bingo challenge, this photo contest celebrates the entire Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. We're challenging you to capture your best fall shots!

This photo contest is now over. Stay tuned for information about next year's contest!

Categories

Send us your best photos in the following categories:
  • Beauty Spots – Landscapes, waterfalls, and other natural delights throughout the Gorge: The highway’s engineer Samuel Lancaster looked for “beauty spots” in the Columbia River Gorge and found ways to take users to these waterfalls and scenic vistas. Find your own place along the Historic Highway that you find beautiful. Snap a photo and share it on Instagram #gorgebingo or any other way you prefer. Make sure you park your car in an official parking area and stay on the trail when selecting your beauty spot.
  • Historic Highway – Bridges, tunnels, architecture, and other places along the Historic Columbia River Highway
  • Happy Hikers – You and/or your family and friends enjoying your trail experience! Photos must show hikers, preferably from the front, not behind.
  • Youth Photographers – We will be recognizing shutterbugs under 18 years old in all of the above categories.
