Become a Site Steward!

Help monitor land trust properties, collect field data, and be the eyes and ears of the land trust

Become a Site Steward!

Do you want to help take care of special places in the Gorge?  Do you prefer spending your free time outside? Are you an independent worker?

Then consider becoming a Site Steward with Friends of the Columbia Gorge Land Trust! “Adopt” a land trust property and become intimately acquainted with it over time. The more eyes and ears we have on the ground the quicker we can respond to positive and negative impacts.

Our land trust primarily needs your help to monitor property conditions, use, and changes (from illegal dumping to the introduction of new invasive species as well as environmental changes such as erosion which may cause needed trail maintenance).

Additional stewardship activities you may perform:
  • Inspect fence lines
  • Monitor and remove noxious weeds
  • Maintain trails
  • Pick up trash
  • Monitor flora and fauna
  • Assist work parties or create your own
  • Collect native seed
  • Reduce fire fuels
